Preface

The H3C S5500-SI/EI documentation set includes 10 command references, which describe the commands and command syntax options for the S5500-SI and S5500-EI series Ethernet switches, Release2208.

The Layer 3IP Services Command Reference describes the commands for configuring IP addressing, DHCP, IP performance optimization, ARP, DNS, UDP helper, IRDP, IPv6 basics, DHCPv6 and IPv4-IPv6 transitional technologies.

This documentation is intended for:

·           Network planners

·           Field technical support and servicing engineers

·           Network administrators working with the S5500-SI/EI series

Added and modified commands

Compared to Release2202, Release2208 adds, modifies, and deletes the following commands:

Command reference

Added and modified commands

ARP configuration

Gratuitous ARP configuration

Added commands:

arp send-gratuitous-arp [ interval milliseconds ]

Proxy ARP configuration

Modified commands:

local-proxy-arp enable [ ip-range startIP to endIP ]modified from local-proxy-arp enable

IP addressing

Added commands:

ip address unnumbered interface interface-type interface-number(available only on the S5500-EI)

DHCP server configuration

S5500-EI

Added commands:

dhcp server threshold

Modified commands:

·       undo dhcp server ip-pool pool-nameModified from undo dhcp server ip-pool pool-name [ extended ]

·       undo network ip rangeModified from undo network ip range [ min-address max-address ]

·       undo network maskModified from undo network mask  [ mask ]

S5500-SI

Added commands:

DHCP server configuration related commands.

DHCP relay agent configuration

Added commands:

·       dhcp relay check mac-address

·       dhcp relay client-detect enable

DHCP client configuration

DHCP snooping configuration

Added commands:

·       dhcp-snooping binding database filename

·       dhcp-snooping binding database update interval

·       dhcp-snooping binding database update now

·       dhcp-snooping check mac-address

·       dhcp-snooping check request-message

·       display dhcp-snooping binding database

BOOTP client configuration

IPv4 DNS configuration

Added commands:

·       dns spoofing

Modified commands:

·       display dns hostModified from display dns dynamic-host

·       dns server (available in interface view)

·       reset dns hostModified from reset dns dynamic-host

IPv6 DNS configuration

IP performance optimization

IRDP

IRDP configuration commands are all newly added.

UDP Helper

IPv6 basics

Added commands:

·       ND snooping related commands

·       ND proxy related commands

·       ipv6 nd ra no-advlinkmtu

·       ipv6 prefer temporary-address

·       ipv6 unreachables enable

DHCPv6

DHCPv6 configuration commands are all newly added.

Tunneling(available only on the S5500-EI)

Description

Boldface

Bold text represents commands and keywords that you enter literally as shown.

Italic

Italic text represents arguments that you replace with actual values.

[ ]

Square brackets enclose syntax choices (keywords or arguments) that are optional.

{ x | y | ... }

Braces enclose a set of required syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which you select one.

[ x | y | ... ]

Square brackets enclose a set of optional syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which you select one or none.

{ x | y | ... } *

Asterisk marked braces enclose a set of required syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which you select at least one.

[ x | y | ... ] *

Asterisk marked square brackets enclose optional syntax choices separated by vertical bars, from which you may select multiple choices or none.

&<1-n>

The argument or keyword and argument combination before the ampersand (&) sign can be entered 1 to n times.

A line that starts with a pound (#) sign is comments.

Boldface

Window names, button names, field names, and menu items are in Boldface. For example, the New User window appears; click OK.

Multi-level menus are separated by angle brackets. For example, File > Create > Folder.
